That is the question asked in this recent article. It looks like the recent Marina Bay Sands advertising campaign to recruit thousands of new workers has created quite a stir in Singapore. It has even gotten me excited because Ive noticed traffic to this site is up by about 500% since the job recruitment drive started. Keep it up guys, the more excitement the better.

implementation of the NCPG casino exclusion orders in the coming year.
Said Mr Lim Hock San, Chairman of the NCPG: “The first casino is expected to

It looks like Las Vegas Sands’ Marina Bay IR casino has a jump start on the MICE business given the fact that Singapore already ranks so well as a meeting city.  From AsiaOne.com:

For the first time in history, Singapore has been ranked the ‘Top International Meeting City’ in 2007 in the Union of International Associations (UIA) 2007 Global Rankings.

In the UIA’s International Meetings Statistics 2007 report, Singapore leapfrogged two notches to clinch the top position, beating perennial favourites Paris (ranked 2nd) and Vienna (3rd), giving its ambition to be an exchange capital of the world a boost.

‘The UIA congratulates Singapore on the steady growth in the number of international meetings it has hosted over the past few years, a growth that results from and reflects the focus, quality and creativity of the Singapore meetings industry,’ said Mr Jacques de Mevius, Secretary-General, UIA.  Continue Reading »

A NEW city skyline will arise over the next couple of years when 23 buildings turn on the lights at night.
Maybank, The Sail condo and the Marina Bay Sands integrated resort are among the buildings that have sent lighting proposals to the Government. The plans include how they will illuminate their roofs or accentuate their facades.

This light-up is part of Singapore’s plan to create a night buzz for a distinctive city, said Mrs Cheong Hoon Kean, chief executive officer of the Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA).

Speaking to The Straits Times ahead of the Formula One night race next week, she said: ‘We can look forward to a signature night skyline in the next couple of years, when the buildings in Marina Bay and Central Business District (CBD) are completed and external lighting is installed.’ Beautiful lighting will create ‘a captivating night scene that enhances our city’s appeal’, she added.  Continue Reading »

Gone are the days when a degree in management necessarily meant a degree in finance or accounts. With specialisation being the order of the day, studying casino management seems to hold a lot of promise for the Gen Next who want to earn mega bucks.

The necessity of having a course in casino management arose after the Singapore Government announced setting up of two casinos in the Integrated Resorts which would be ready by next year, Andrew Chau, Executive Chairman and Principal of East Asia Institute of Management (EASB) said.

“We in Singapore believe in first building infrastructure for the sector we target growth in. It is a win-win situation for both, the professionals and the industry.
